Le Soula Terroir d'Altitude white 2019

Le Soula is located in the Fenouilledes, high up in the foothills of the Eastern Pyrenees.  The top of the Agly Valley benefits from a cooler climate and can produce wines of real quality. They have the potential equal the very finest French wines. \n \nToday Le Soula is in the hands of Mark Walford and Wendy Wilson, with Wendy running the estate and winemaking. The vineyard has been organic since the outset in 2001, working biodynamically since 2008, with certification following in 2011. \n \nThe soil is decomposed granite, with gneiss, quartz and feldspar, and a hectare of slate. The climate is hard and extreme, combining the heat of the Southern sun with the cold and rain of the mountains and the Tramontane and Marin winds.
